The First Stage CBT is only a screening nature and the type of questions for the CBT will be usually in conformity with the academic standards and/or lowest technical qualifications set for the vacancies. The marks of first stage examination shall be utilized only for shortlisting of candidates for 2nd stage exam according to their merit. Applicants who are filtered for 2nd Stage CBT obtaining the reservation aids of a community shall remain considered only against which community for all subsequent level of recruitment process.
The Questions is of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to comprise questions pertaining to:
Maths Number system, LCM, HCF, Ratio & Proportion, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Mensuration, Time & Work; Profit & Loss, Algebra, Geometry & Trigonometry, Time and Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Elementary Statistics, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Square Root, Pipes & Cistern and many more.
General Intelligence & Causing
Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Analogies, Alphabetical & Number Series, Coding & Decoding, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
The General Science syllabus covers Physics, Chemistry & Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
General awareness on recent affairs in Science and Technology, Personalities, Economics, Sports, Culture, Politics and other papers of significance.
2nd Stage CBT includes Short listing of applicants for the Second Stage CBT examination shall be depended on the normalized marks scored by them in the First Stage CBT Exam.
The total number of applicants to be filtered for stage two is 15 times the community wise total vacancy of assistant loco pilot and Technician notified against the RRB according to their merit in Stage One CBT. However, Railways has the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific needed to make sure availability of enough candidates for all the notified posts.
The total duration of part A & B is 2 hours and 30 Minutes.
